Kentucky vs. Miss State
I gotta give it up for that big Jimmy Walker looking swat machine down there in Starkville. That kid has got some serious skills on the defensive side of the ball.
That being said, Patterson still only got 11 attempts. He was 4 for 11, which is bad, but no reason not to get off about nine more shots. Varnardo woulda maybe had three more blocks if Patrick had gotten off nine more shots, but still.
Crawford showed me a little something when he put that spin move on ol’ dude then slammed it on some other dudes head. That was nice Joe. I’d like to see a little more of that aggressiveness.
And speaking of aggressiveness, I liked what I saw out of Mark Coury. He just sucks. But he was very aggressive taking shots and taking the ball to the basket. He just got it ate up by Jimmy Walker with the seven foot arms. That kid is incredible.
Anytime anyone went to the basket, he was throwing that stuff. Not much you can really do about that I suppose. I would just like to see Patterson getting more shots, that’s all.
I did like to see them running some offence in the second half and actually thought I could see improvement. I don’t mind Harris running the point. That frees Ramel up to do his thing.
I’d be less upset about this loss if we weren’t sitting at 7 wins and 8 losses. That’s a pretty stout ball club down there and I don’t think we can feel too bad about losing to them. Not like Gardner Webb or anything.
It’s going to be a long season…hell, it’s already a long season.
