thank god Tubby’s gone

You know, after Tubby left and Billy G. came in and started losing games to people like San Diego and Gardner Webb, I was a big critic.  I felt that Tubby had been forced out by unreal expectations from fans and the media.  I even felt like some UK fans simply didn’t like Tubby because of his skin color.

 

Well, no longer will I bemoan the fact that he’s gone.  As this season has gone UK has reached milestones I never thought I would live to see.  I mean, when did you ever expect to get beat by Vandy by 41?  Never, that’s when I thought it would happen.  Never thought I’d live to see something like that.  But I did.

 

Talk about a red letter day in the history of UK basketball.  That my friend is one.  And it would never have been able to happen if Tubby Smith were still the basketball coach.  No way his slow down, grind it out, super disciplined style would ever allow something like a 41 point blow out to Vandy. 

 

I mean, it’s easy for a first time coaching in Vandy to get blown out.  That’s a weird place to play, ya know.  But to get blown out with such zest!  I mean, it looked like they all forgot how to play again.  It’s almost like they were unprepared or something.  But they were.  Prepared to make UK basketball history!  Never before have you seen the big blue go down in such flames to Vandy!

 

I want to congratulate Ramel Bradley and Joe Crawford for their senior leadership in this gigantic failure.  Billy G. might have been coaching his first game in that jacked up arena, but you Ramel and Joe that was your last time.  Last of at least four.  You guys looked like it was your first time as well.  Like you had never seen that place before.  Like you were looking for help from your bench on the sideline instead of guarding those guys heaving up wide open threes.  Thanks guys.  With out you I don’t know if Billy G. would have been able to coach that few points.
