I am the cal reed project.  And I simply do not give a fruit loop. 

 

That was my first on stage banter.  The direct quote is, everyone has been very good tonight.  I should apologize for bringing down the talent and skill level.  But I am the cal reed solo project and I simply do not give a hairy rat butt.

 

That’s pretty funny.

 

I played those three things I know horribly.  It was terrible.  I’ve been playing on my acoustic and I didn’t account for the difference.  I didn’t warm up on my electric at all.  And that’s my bad.  Lesson learned.

 

All in all it was a good time.  I brought up the house drummer and guitarist.  The house guitarist was the only dude in the place with an electric.  What’s up with that?  I knew it was open mic night, I didn’t know it was faggy acoustic crybaby night.

 

Ah, just joking.  There were several talented folks in the joint tonight.  I really was least practiced, least talented, least of them all.  But turn it upside down and put it in sideways.  I am the cal reed project and I simply do not give a horton hears a who.

 

But anyway, I brought up the house drummer and guitarist and jammed out a couple of my riffs.  That was pretty cool.  The first one was rumplestiltskin.  And the second one was not a good one to pick.  It’s a little jam I been working on at home.  And my timing is all off when I don’t work with a drummer. 

 

So my timing was jacked up on my own cotton pickin’ riff.  But it’s all good.  I dragged my fat ass all the way downtown to play my bass in front of people.  Hey, no one got up to smoke while I was playing.

 

I guess it’s like a train wreck.  People just wanted to hang out and see what happened.

 

My friend Margaret, the only of my friends to come down, said to me, she says, that was bad.  I said, I know, totally bad ass.  She said, no, that was bad.  Where you had the little impromptu band, that was kinda cool.

 

Oh.

 

Whatever.  I’m still bad ass.
