why i hate george lucas.

i mean, other than the blasphemous thing he did to indiana jones in the crystal skull pile of crap.

i was watching the original trilogy the other night when i got sick to my stomach at some of the “improvements” that where made before they were released on dvd.  improvements like the added creatures when luke and obi wan go into mos eisley, or when greedo shoots first.  which greedo shooting first might be the dumbest thing ever.  i mean, if you wanted han to look like not such a bad ass and have him shot at first before killing greedo, why didn’t you just shoot it like that in the first place.  or put a skirt on him.

and even though lucas did film the scene in the hanger with jaba the hutt way back in the day, and he was able to put a character generated jaba in the scene and add it to the dvd, it looks dumb.  the computer generated jaba don’t really look much like the jaba we see in the return of the jedi.  but whatever.

lucas even changed the color of luke’s light saber.  i mean, why?

what he should have changed is the targeting computer screens when the millenium falcon is escaping the death star after obi wan is killed by dearth vader.  you remember, when luke and han are in the falcon’s gun turrets shooting down the tie fighters.  the targeting screens look like atari 2600.  why not update that?  you’ve already destroyed the integrity of the film for no reason.  why not improve on something that looks so primitive by comparison to the rest of the movie?
